So I was wrong the WHOLE time! I really thought it was a boy. The Chinese calendar was right yet again. My labor nurse, doctor and I all thought it was going to be a boy. Joe thought it was a girl and he was right! It was so amazing being surprised.
I had a little less than 12 hours of labor. My doctor delivered 17 babies this past weekend (including a pair of twins!) and he said I had one of the better deliveries. I didn't think so at the time! The pushing got to be very hard for me....pushing over 2 hours and she still didn't want to come out so the doc performed an episiotomy. So needless to say I am a bit sore and moving around slow yet.
I think Aubrey really looks like her Daddy. She has Joe's cheeks and definately has his feet. Remember the posts about me being poked in the ribs? Yep, those were Aubrey's big feet like her Daddy's! She has quite a bit of dark brown hair. I was surprised she has so much hair since I was bald when I was born.
Aubrey was born on Joe's dad's birthday. It's so amazing for her share a birthday with her Grandpa Stang who is in heaven. It will be such a neat story to tell her someday.
In these first few days, I'm learning just how amazing motherhood is. It's everything and more I thought it'd be. I love being Aubrey's mother. It's the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Wow, she is adorable!!!! I can't believe how alert she looks and so darn cute. I'm not sure who she looks like yet! I can't wait to see her and visit when you are on your leave. Congrats to you all on your wonderful miracle!

Congrats!! She is just precious and so alert. The picture of Aubrey sleeping, I think she has a lot of her daddies looks, but when she is alret I can see you in her. Enjoy your time home with her. And congrats again. Very adorable.
